Nope. It's not necessary that the company that operate CCL will operate DTL. While it will be most convenient for the operators of both lines to be the same, nothing is there to imply the impossibility of having different operators under the same roof at KCD, serving 2 separate lines... :)

I not too sure if this is what you are refering to:
The NEL uses the Alstom ONIX traction system, and similarly, the CCL trains will also be using the ONIX traction system as can be found on this ppt: http://www.unife.org/uploads/070711_Alstom_Bell_Managing_Turnkey_Projects_CCL%20Singapore_Warsaw_RBF_UNIFE_Part1.ppt

eXAKR is right. The motors for our 6car trains are all in the 2nd 3rd 4th and 5th cabin. 1st and last cabins do not have motors. Only the upcoming CCL 3car trains will be different. the CCL trains will have motor in the 1st and last cabin. The middle one just a trailer.
Thus the "The first cabin's engine is always the quietest, which is quite a mystery." is because the first cabin does not have a motor.
And "Being the first cabin, it definitely goes the fastest." is not really true. In our 6car trains, the first cabin is being "pushed" along by the middle cabins, so if you're gonna take into account the "expansion and contraction" due to the articulated sections, the first cabin is actually "slower" when accelerating and slightly "faster" when decelerating.

Are the C651s gonna get refurbished? I took 3 of them the past fews days, omg I think they really need to get refurbished soon. One of them one carriage the green one air con not working totally so hot! also the seats are so narrow.... and got one train still got left over signs of the fail experiments last time! (sign: extra poles "framing" around the seat - not the frame because 6 seats one. the 9seats with framing around the seats - so ugly! experiment: the whole row of cushion thing)

I'm at eunos, i wanna go to AMK.
currently: take from eunos to city hall, change train to AMK (about 30 min)
with CCL: take from eunos to paya lebar, change to CCL to bishan, change to NSL to AMK (about 20min)
all time estimate.....
basically shorter time, but more walking coz more transfer. haha.
+ avoid the crowd at city hall to orchard somemore :)

Singapore MRT is just a joke.
Take a look at Korean or Europe one and u will know what is real world class transport system.
Actually, without the MRT, transport in SG would be worse than a joke. Imagine having to take a bus from Pasir Ris to Boon Lay. 2hr of madness.
