Valencia reject Silva offer
Agent confirms winger wants to stay in Spain

David Silva's agent has told Sky Sports News that Valencia have turned down an offer from Manchester United.
Premier League champions United have been linked with a £20million bid for Silva as Sir Alex Ferguson looks to add to his squad before the close of the transfer window.
Domestic rivals Liverpool have also been mooted as admirers of the Spain international, who impressed during his country's successful Euro 2008 campaign.
Reports have suggested that the winger could be sold to ease Valencia's financial problems, with Barcelona also linked with a bid.
Silva has admitted that he has 'no desire' to move to England and would prefer to join Barcelona, if he were to leave Valencia.
And, despite acknowledging United's offer, the player's agent Julio Llorente has confirmed the 22-year-old wants to stay in Spain.
"Manchester United made an offer for David Silva, but this has been turned down by Valencia," Llorente told Sky Sports News in a statement.
"Silva doesn't want to play in England because he is happy at Valencia.
"His family are settled and if he was to move it would only be to another Spanish club, like Real Madrid or Barcelona.
"David Silva will start the new season at Valencia."

what's so impressive when they spent so much on players who already can play so well? i personally prefer rafa's style, bringing in players of not so high standard but playing together as a team make them one of the best, look at the top4 every year, liverpool will always be the team that has the least field players worth. that's the way i call impressive.
To be honest Liverpool haven't been very impressive le . Very inconsistent most probably due to the fact that Rafa rotates the team and deploying different formations every week . And also I don't know what you meant by bringing in players "of not so high" standard . I thought players like Fernando Torres and Mascherano came with a reputation

Roma confirm Baptista interest
Spalletti keen to bring in 'The Beast'

Roma coach Luciano Spalletti has confirmed that the Serie A club are hoping to sign Julio Baptista from Real Madrid.
Reports in the Italian media have suggested that the Brazilian forward, who spent a season on loan with Arsenal in 2006/07, is poised to complete his move to the Stadio Olimpico.
Baptista, nicknamed 'The Beast', is expected to leave Santiago Bernabeu this summer and his agent has admitted he would welcome a permament transfer to Roma.
Spalletti sees the powerful international as an 'ideal' player, but insisted he had other options if the move failed to materialise.
Spalletti said: "It is true that we are in talks for Baptista, but in a relaxed atmosphere.
"He has great potential and is ideal for our situation, but I don't want to create tensions within the club.
"Baptista can occupy several different roles. He has played as a centre-forward and a midfielder in front of the defence.
"He can easily settle in to the team and is suited to our style of play, the philosophy of our squad. But there are other players, because we have to be ready."
