In UK, there are some ladies who are very concerned about environmental issues. They seemed to think that babies are not eco-friendly. And for that, they will never consider having a baby after getting married.
This thinking may be extreme and hopefully no one in SG will have such idea. There may be some who think along this line, who knows?
I think these are their concerns :
1. Today's babies used too many pampers. Young and inexperienced mothers keep changing the pampers. In fact they changed it every 2 hours regardless if the baby has "shee shee" or not. They rather not have baby than to pollute the environment with pampers.
2. Another baby born means another mouth to feed in this planet. More milk and more cereals. More forest cleared to rear cows and plant cereals.
3. Baby grow older, attend kindergarten and then attend school. Used up clothes, papers, pens, computers, printers etc etc....More waste!
3. Baby grow up to be adults. Require more food. More environmental waste.
4. Adults married and have more babies ...even more environmental waste. So you can see that over the longer term. Just 1 baby will produce so much environmental waste. Multiply it by a million. Its staggering.
So, green couples will not want to have non-green babies. Lesser babies will be born.
