Saw in some video before : Singapore is one of the economic miracles in the world. So in that aspect, yes we should be proud of Singapore.
But yet sometimes I can't help but think that Singapore is too obsessed with the word growth. Yes high per capita income, yes high standard of living, yes racial harmony.
But 20 years ago I don't think the Gini Coefficient was that huge, the primary school kids probably were not suffering from lack of sleep (yes it was reported in the ST that one in 2 was not sleeping enough and the main reason is homework). All these at the expense for growth? Then comes the ERP debates (but it really isn't working. I tink about 75% still said they will drive despite the increase in ERP gantaries).
As for the increase in the number of FTs in the country you can't really be very critical about that. That is the effect of globalisation.

proud of what sg achieved?
when they let in 2nd/3rd world ppl in by the bulk? when they inviting these ppl to become citizens so that the next elections can vote for PAP? have you heard of any country doing that?
and the society issues due to these ppl? Even elderly jobs like cleaners taken over by Chinamen and women, indians, our elderly no place to stand because of all these ppl
proud what fark siaz..i think government proud of what they rake in for themselves.
SG might have achieved something on the world map but i feel our society is generally going backwards.
